Emeritus & Honorary Professor

Professor Francis Chin is an Emeritus Professor at The University of Hong Kong and the Founder and Chief Solution Officer of DeepTranslate Limited. With a Ph.D. from Princeton University and a notable academic career, he has held prestigious positions, including Chair of HKU's Computer Science Department and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. His research spans algorithms, machine learning, and bioinformatics, with significant contributions to motif discovery and genome assembly. As a prolific author and conference leader, Professor Chin's expertise is further demonstrated by his role in government advisory committees and as a Managing Editor for leading scientific journals.
